GEAR UP stands for “Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs” and is a grant that helps students starting in middle school prepare for education and training beyond high school. The vision of GEAR UP East Hartford is for all students to be academically, socially, and financially ready to enter and succeed in the postsecondary program or institution of their choice. Free services are provided to students and parents by CT State Manchester GEAR UP staff, located in your schools as well as on our campus at CT State Manchester (formerly Manchester Community College).
